Helen Mort, Stepmother

We’re delighted to welcome Helen Mort to Leah’s Yard for an evening of performance and conversation as part of Leah’s Lates.

Helen will be reading from Stepmother โ€” her bold new collection that moves between lyric essay and gothic verse to explore that most maligned of female archetypes. Casting a sharp, tender gaze on fairytale, film, and the shifting terrain of the modern family, it’s a book about female power, the fear it provokes, and the surprising shapes love can take.

She’ll be in conversation with Sheffield poet Suzannah Evans.
